Under COBS 2.2.3 of the FCA Handbook, Symmetry Investments UK LLP (the “Firm”) is required to make a public disclosure in relation to the nature of its commitment to the UK Financial Reporting Council’s Stewardship Code, which was first published in July 2010 and subsequently revised in September 2012 and January 2020.
The Code is directed in the first instance to asset owners, and asset managers (and service providers that provide services to them).
The Firm’s investment strategy is macro focussed and the funds whose assets are managed by the Firm (the “Funds”) hold positions in a variety of asset classes and in a variety of jurisdictions globally. The Firm’s approach in relation to engagement with issuers (and members of their management teams) in all of the jurisdictions in which the Funds invest is determined on a case-by-case basis.
Consequently, the Firm does not consider it appropriate to commit to any particular voluntary code of practice relating to any individual jurisdiction. Therefore, while the Firm supports the principles of the Code, it does not consider it appropriate to conform to the Code at this time.
